History of Buddhism in Tibet
The Buddhism in Tibet came a long way after the Buddha attaining Nirvana.
They were practicing Vajrayana which originated from Mahayana.
During 7th century Songtsen Gampo introduced to his kingdom by inviting Buddhist scolar and marrying couple of Buddhist princesses of Nepal and China.
This act helped in the foundation of spreading religion.
It was in yhe 8th century when king Trisong Detsen invited Guru Padmasambhava, The great scolar from India and then the real establishment of Buddhist begun. Since Since
Since then, their Buddhism had been more alive in its own unique way whereby founding schools like Sakya, Gelug and many more.
Out of these School, Gelug became more popular which is founded by Tsongkhapa in the 14th century.
Which later came to served as Dalai lama in both spiritual and political leader of Tibet.
