Buddha and Buddhism

Buddha was born as an only prince to the king Suddhodana miraculously in Lumbini Garden from the right armpit of his Mother Maya Devi. It is believed that the Queen had a dream of a white elephant with six tusked entering her womb right before she got pregnant. The Queen pregnancy brought endless joy in the Palace of Kapilavastu.

Buddha had believed to had taken seven step right after his birth and declared:"I am the supreme of the world". The Queen Maya died after seven days of prince's birth. However he was well loved and taken care by his mother's sister (aunt).

The prince was named as Sidhharta and grew up mastering all the arts and skills expected as a prince at that time. The Siddharta ruled over the kingdom with his father and lived a luxurious life in the a palace.  He married Yasodhara and had a son named Rahula. One day he sae sickness, old age, death and a monk while touring around his kingdom with his assistance.

He then left his palace to seek a solution to all these problems of lives. The prince spent six years undertaking sever fasting and meditation, however this penance did not lead to inner fulfillment and liberation,  he gave up the two extremes of excessive indulgence and physical clustering and adopted the middle way of enlightenment.

Siddhartha had a rice porridge offered by Sajuta, he then entered into meditation and overcame the evil forces of attachment,  aggression and ignorance. Having defeated the inner demons at the age of 35, he attained full enlightenment under the Bodhi tree.

After seven days of enlightenment,  the Buddha gave his first sermon to his former colleagues. The first sermon were "Four Noble Truth". Which we taught them that, 'To live is to suffer' and the ' Causes of the suffering is self-centered desired and attachment.  So for this the solution is to 'eliminate desire and attempt ' thus achieving Nirvana. And the fourth truth is the way ro Nirvana is through the 'Eight Fold Path'.

The eight fold paths includes; Right action, Right speech, Right livelihood,  Right meditation,  Right understanding, Right motivation, Right effort, and Right mindfulness.

Buddha taught more and more followers spreading the Buddhism "The middle way"of wisdom and compassion. The tradition was began in India and spreaded throughout the far east. Buddhism is solely based on Buddha's teachings which still exist and follows by Buddhist until today.
