Buddha and Buddhism

Buddha was born as an only prince to the king Suddhodana miraculously in Lumbini Garden from the right armpit of his Mother Maya Devi. It is believed that the Queen had a dream of a white elephant with six tusked entering her womb right before she got pregnant. The Queen pregnancy brought endless joy in the Palace of Kapilavastu.  Buddha had believed to had taken seven step right after his birth and declared:"I am the supreme of the world". The Queen Maya died after seven days of prince's birth. However he was well loved and taken care by his mother's sister (aunt). The prince was named as Sidhharta and grew up mastering all the arts and skills expected as a prince at that time. The Siddharta ruled over the kingdom with his father and lived a luxurious life in the a palace.  He married Yasodhara and had a son named Rahula. History of Buddhism in Tibet

 The Buddhism in Tibet came a long way after the Buddha attaining Nirvana.  They were practicing Vajrayana which originated from Mahayana.  During 7th century Songtsen Gampo introduced to his kingdom by inviting Buddhist scolar and marrying couple of Buddhist princesses of Nepal and China. This act helped in the foundation of spreading religion.  It was in yhe 8th century when king Trisong Detsen invited Guru Padmasambhava, The great scolar from India and then the real establishment of Buddhist begun. Since Since  Since then, their Buddhism had been more alive in its own unique way whereby founding schools like Sakya, Gelug and many more. Out of these School, Gelug became more popular which is founded by Tsongkhapa in the 14th century.  Which later came to served as Dalai lama in both spiritual and political leader of Tibet.

Four Buddhist School In Tibet

 The Buddist School in Tibet were divided into four main categories where each schools practices their own unique traditions and teaching practices. These Schools are: 1. Nyingma; It literally means old, Which means this school is the oldest Tibetan Buddhism which was founded based on teachings of Padmasambhawa. It emphasis the practice of Dzogchen or "Great Perfection " that focuses on realization of the innate nature of mind. 2. Kagyu; It is known as "Oral Lineage". They mainly emphasis on meditation practice especially Mahamudra "Great Seal" and the six Yogas of Naropa. The school was introduced by Marpa and his disciple Milarepa in the 11th century.  3. Sakya; It was in 11th century when school was founded by Konchok Gyalpo. The school focuses on the teachings of Sutra and Tantra. 4. Gelug; Gelug School was founded by Tsongkhapa in 14th century.
